Grade School/High School

Teachers...need a way to make learning words fun? Consider the game way to do it with Word-sportTM. Most ways of learning words are separated by grade levels; that is the methods of learning words does (and should) get more complicated as the child progresses through school. This requires that a different, more advanced system be used at every level.

Word-sportTM transcends the levels barrier and is applicable for all ages, from grade school through high school and beyond. The letter tile pieces are like the keys on the keyboard of a musical instrument. They are not concerned with the ability of the person using them. Word formation can be simple for the beginners, yet the same tiles can be used in more advanced play by older, more skilled players. The letter tiles also do not discriminate between boys and girls, race color or creed.

Unlike the board game Scrabble®, there are no numeric values attached to the letter tiles. Scrabble® may determine who is the best at word formation, Word-sportTM determines who is the fastest! The unique touch-top timer clock introduces a sense of urgency to the game. Scoring is also easier as place finishes determine it. There is also no game board, as any table you play at becomes the game board. There can be up to eight players at a table (suggested five ft. diameter, round table). Click on Table Setup page to see suggested table layouts. The optional “Wild Tiles” make the game even more fun.

Unlike most electronic games that promote isolation, Word-sportTM promotes interaction. We also have plans for tournaments to be held at the grade school and high school levels, perhaps as part of an “Academic Olympics”. On the drawing board is an Internet version of Word-sportTM that will hook up students for online global competition. Your opinion is important to us. Click here to give us your comments. You can also leave your email address and we'll keep you informed by our e-news on the latest developments with Word-SportTM.

So give your students a fun way of learning words with “Word-sport”.
